Oh come on, Sy. Maybe they're requesting certain things because they think it will help. Rather than giving them what they want and then complaining about it after the fact, why don't you sit down with and ask them why they want access? Then explain to them why it may/may not be a good idea.
I often find that poor developers are immensely worse in teh company of bad or uncooperative DBAs. Thank GOd my DBAs are great and work well with us developers.
