When you say "import 50 gig" ... what tools or utilities are you going to be using? Is it oracle import? Flat files being fed in? More details here.

How long do you have to service the import process? What does a daily cycle look like?

After you process 50 gig, does it get retained or thrown away in the next cycle?

RAC is a high availability solution. If you just need a bunch of horsepower but don't necessarily have a huge need to ensure survivability if "the server" crashes, it may not be what you need. Received on Fri Jan 07 2005 - 19:28:51 CST
