No gotcha w/ ASM. ASM comes configured as a very small instance and AMM. In my opinion, it's not worth moving away from AMM so that hugepages will work. The instance is too small to make me care. No reason *not* to use hugepages w/ ASM, just no real reason to bother with it, that's all.

Thanks Mark (a couple of things):
a.) see my reply to Andrew - it was more of speed thing to get it cycled up to production - maybe it really wouldn't save much time anyway doing 1 vs 4 devs/ and 4 QAs.
b.) You mention ASM, is there a "gotcha" here I need to be aware of?
Thanks again for all the input guys.
Chris

Also, consider, if you're going through the trouble of configuring hugepages, you might as well do it for all instances.
While it's true that you'd probably want hugepages configured for a system w/ a 32GB SGA, and it's probably not necessary to do so for the 4GB SGA, there's really no harm in configuring hugepages for both. There's really no downside.
My rule of thumb, when it comes to hugepages is that if you're not using them, you're doing it wrong, with the one exception being ASM instances.
