My "opinion", for what it's worth, is probably unprintable. As more and more people (who are not DBAs) become Oracle "certified" the value of the certification drops exponentionally. Pretty soon it will be worth no more than MicroSoft certification. Something nice to hang on your cube wall.

The value further declines when you consider about once every couple of months someone posts how to get certs. by just sending money. The manager of a testing center accepts the money and has someone else take the test (who has already passed). I am pretty sure the person is still in business even though I forwarded the information ot MS, Oracle, Cisco, and SUN.
