Oh ya... another positive factor for the budget was that Netapps SAN ...the disks
are cheaper than TAPE...

and... the HUGE KICKER.... when you dump all your backups to one of this large
terabyte filers.... it simplifies and become part of your DISASTER recovery....
savings are indescrible... stuff the bean counters love..

I'm currently involved in a discussion about the virtues of backups to disk AND to tape of production databases. I'm for the idea, and there are others who are only wanting to backup to disk, and want to depend on our DR server for any other recovery requirement. I'm looking for your thoughts on this topic. Anyone want to contribute some good reasons to g ahead and backup to tape anyway?
