OPS questions

I am looking for some truthful information on OPS (Oracle Parallel Server).

Some questions I have are:

Are people really using this as a failover solution?
Is this a better solution than a standby database?
How are tnsnames.ora (at the client level) entries resolved if one server goes down?
Does OPS have any load balancing features?
It appears that OPS is good if a server crashed due to a bad CPU, etc - but the database is still a single point of failure. If an object runs out of space, or the archive directory fills up, OPS does not buy you anything.
Is it difficult to maintain multiple SGAs on all the servers?

Anyone have any experiences to share?
