Michael,
I agree with you about the software. But I think that its ok for the books. Software has different copyright and licsening laws governing them. For books, I believe that you just cannot make copies in any form (electronic or physical). I don't think that Oracle can tell you not to sell them. It would be like colleges saying you can't sell your textbooks. And there are stores that specialize in the reslling only.
I already have purchased exam *software* myself, and would n't want to step on any laws (I'm such a good girl). But I dont think that Oracle can legally tell people NOT to sell their textbooks.
Thanks for the feedback!

It is not legal to sell the STS software. You can read their info at http://www.selftestsoftware.com/shop/LicenseAgreement.asp
Oracle does not say anything specifically on their site, but I find it hard to imagine they would be willing to let you resell the books because then people would not need to go to the classes where they make all their $$$.
Oddly enough, the great majority of the course book content is a DIRECT COPY of excerpts from their various documentation. The coursebooks just have it condensed down to the bare minimum of what they want you to know apparently and it is all in one location rather than several manuals potentially. So maybe given the fact that is essentially a copy of free material (the CD version at least), maybe you can sell them. I suppose you should call Oracle and plead your case.
As far as I know, only instructors and Oracle employees can get the coursebooks (and class participants, of course). My last instructor was pretty helpful in explaining a lot of internal Oracle "stuff". We had an Oracle employee in the class who wanted a book and the instructor said he could get it since he was an employee. He just needed the part number. Regular people like us are out of luck.

Hi guys, just starting a new thread as the subject has changed a bit. I'm very
interested in the response. (and if legal, if anyone wants to sell, I'm in the
market:>)
