Books are different from software. Software is leased, not owned. You buy the right to use it, you don't really buy the software itself. That way, the owner can control what you can do with it. Books are purchased. You own it and can resell it to anyone you like. You cannot copy it because someone else owns the copyright, but you do own the physical book and you can do anything else you want with it -- sell it, burn it, etc.

Oracle does not say anything specifically on their site, but I find it hard to imagine they would be willing to let you resell the books because then people would not need to go to the classes where they make all their $$$.

Oddly enough, the great majority of the course book content is a DIRECT COPY of excerpts from their various documentation. The coursebooks just have it condensed down to the bare minimum of what they want you to know apparently and it is all in one location rather than several manuals potentially. So maybe given the fact that is essentially a copy of free material (the CD version at least), maybe you can sell them. I suppose you should call Oracle and plead your case.

As far as I know, only instructors and Oracle employees can get the coursebooks (and class participants, of course). My last instructor was pretty helpful in explaining a lot of internal Oracle "stuff". We had an Oracle employee in the class who wanted a book and the instructor said he could get it since he was an employee. He just needed the part number. Regular people like us are out of luck.
