Patch of the day??

Help the patches are getting to me!!!

I am working on migrating a system from 8.0.5.1 to 8i (HP-UX 11.0 32Bit). I have installed 8.1.6, am downloading 8.1.6.2.1 patchset (it's listed as 8.1.6.2.0 on Metalink I checked with them this AM). While on the phone with the support folks they told me I should be going to 8.1.7.

8.1.6 has been patched 4 times in 3 months with fairly major patches (by looking at the readme's), and is now being superseeded with 8.1.7. Do I even want to continue with 8.1.6.x or should I wait for the 8.1.7 to arrive and go with it? Do any of you have expierence with either/both? Any ideas?

I'm under some time constraints to get this tested and implemented by Nov 15th.
