RE: Patch of the day??Right now in 8.1.6, we are facing a bug (# = 782989), which is just reversing the order of the arguments in = procedure/function after we recompile them using the alter command or = Oracle compiles to validate them. There is no pactch and Oracle said, = it will be fixed in 8.1.7.
Hi Rodd,=20
We've been running 8.1.6.2 on HP/UX 11.0 32- and 64-bit with no = serious problems. One fixed bug bit us, but that was it. Upgrading the = database itself was painful, but after the upgrade completed, the = database and the code ran (and still runs) fine.=20

Subject: Patch of the day??=20
Help the patches are getting to me!!!=20
I am working on migrating a system from 8.0.5.1 to 8i (HP-UX 11.0 =
32Bit).=20
I have installed 8.1.6, am downloading 8.1.6.2.1 patchset (it's =
listed as=20
8.1.6.2.0 on Metalink I checked with them this AM).=20
While on the phone with the support folks they told me I should be =
going to=20
8.1.7.=20
8.1.6 has been patched 4 times in 3 months with fairly major patches =
(by=20
looking at the readme's), and is now being superseeded with 8.1.7. Do =
I=20
even want to continue with 8.1.6.x or should I wait for the 8.1.7 to =
arrive=20
and go with it? Do any of you have expierence with either/both? Any =
ideas?=20
I'm under some time constraints to get this tested and implemented by =

15th.=20
