Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> CONNECT_TIMEOUT_LISTENER
Hi Gurus
Can someone please explain to me what exactly this parameter is used for in
the listener.ora? The documentation says that it sets the number of seconds
that the listener waits to get a valid database query after the session has
started.
But my concept of the listener is that it identifies incoming connections
from
clients and either spawns a dedicated server process or directs the client
to
a pre-spawned server process or dispatcher process and provides the client
process with the address of this server process so that they now communicate
directly with each other and the listener no longer has anything to do with
the
communication. But this parameter is used for "after the session has
started".
Please clarify this for me!
