     Thanks to all respondents for the help... I am pleased as punch to
     hear that things are always handled synchronously, a little surprised,
     perhaps, but pleased nonetheless.  And, oh of course, run it in
     background <Homer Simpson sound "opf!">.  Thanks to all respondents,
     and yes, everyone gets extra credit.
