Some of the more popular protocols include:
- TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/ Internet protocol)
- NetWare's IPX/SPX (Internetwork Packet Exchange/Sequenced Packet Exchange)
- IBM's SDLC (Synchronous Data Link Control)
