Hello,

[Quoted] I have some old databases ( 7.3.4 ) but still running ;-), my new server for batch programs is now a suse linux server ( 8 sp 3 ). On this server, i have installed oracle client 8.1.7.4 , all PRO*C, sqlplus programs work fine with this environnement but not sqlloader. I always GOT the error :

SQL*Loader-282: Unable to locate character set handle for character set ID (0).

I try to play with NLS_PARAMETERS, locale, ... but no way, i look at metalink the bug is referenced but is solved in for 8.0.6 ( 8i of course i think ??? ).

On solaris servers with the same client version i got the same problem.

Any hint ???

Thanks a lot
