OLEDB Provider for Oracle

Hi Folks,
I need some advice on oracle/VB development. I have an application in MS SQL server that i am trying to migrate to Oracle.

I am using the Oracle 9i server.
I was planning to use the OLE DB provider for oracle and ADO for VB6. The problem is that the application is supposed to work on the Oracle 7 server and I have not been able to find a OLE DB provider for oracle7.

Will the Oracle9i provider still be able to connect with Oracle7 ? Do I have to use the ODBC to connect to the Oracle Server ?
