Hi N.M.

I assume it is because you are evidently Asian, you are acting so rude - you address someone by his last name only, which is considered not done in almost all civilized countries.
- you top post.

Apart from that you still provide insufficient information to address your question

1 In a normal Instant Client installation there is sql*plus. To leave out sql*plus because of space reasons is just plain stupid. 2 You are using an ODBC driver. Powerbuilder comes with a native driver. The ODBC driver is just an extra redundant layer which slows everything down.
3 Apparently you are using SYS or some other privileged account (an account requiring SYSDBA privilege) to connect, and either the connect string is wrong, or you are a victim of the normal reasons why you are getting ora-1031. As those reasons have been posted at least a 1000 times here, any reason why you can't search the Usenet archives, N.M, when you don't want to provide sufficient information to address the issue?
