  1. To backup MS SQL you don't need to setup anything. You just say BACKUP. Restoring is just as easy.
  2. Nope, the SYSTEM01.DBF file is corrupt. To what extent I could not tell you because Oracle does not supply tools and does not allow 3rd parties to develop them.
  3. I'm not angry in the slightest, this wasn't my application to support. I just tried assisting others who are equally dissatified with Oracle.

The great thing about MS SQL is that you don't need to be a DBA to install, setup or maintain. It is also much more inexpensive and user friendly. Information about also is immensely more available and FREE.  Oracle makes you sign-up and open a ticket for eveything and charges you like crazy.

I really don't believe that hiring an Oracle DBA to support 10 megs worth of data is really the correct way to think about it. Thank you for being negative though. Received on Fri Mar 31 2006 - 13:23:24 CST
