Use of TEMP TS with INSERT

I am getting "unable to extend temp segment" for INSERT INTO TABLE_A SELECT * FROM TABLE_B. Both tables are in the same TS MY_DATA with indexes in the same TS MY_IDX. Why is it using temp ts?
