My tnsnames.ora is correct. But my sqlnet.ora is not. After analysing the sqlnet.ora of a 9i client, I have commented out theses 2 lines in the sqlnet.ora of the 8 client :

NAME.DEFAULT_ZONE = world
NAMES.DEFAULT_DOMAIN = world

and it worked.
