In this case it's better not to remove files. Maybe it's better not to mess up with the registry too.
In fact in this case you should not delete the whole Oracle registry key, but just the subkey relative to Oracle 8 installation. In this case, just leave registry and directories as they are. If you really want to proceed, be very careful.
