It's /etc/oraInst.loc (loc as in location). This file is owned by root and contains location of your Oracle Installer repository. Repository itself is owned by ora9202. That's why you couldn't use it with your next user, ora9203. Your 9202 is still good, just can't use Installer to view/modify it.

If you really want to use different users, rename existing /etc/oraInst.loc (e.g. to oraInst.9202.loc). Install the next version and rename again (e.g. to oraInst.9203) and so on. Copy it back to oraInst.loc when you need to use OUI (e.g. patch) on one of OH's.

They shouldn't be different for the versions you mentioned but I never checked it. Anyway, leave the latest one (9206) and you'll be fine.

I think it is. There are very few situations when you really need OH's owned by different users.
