With all due respect, one just doesn't turn around and say "Give me a complete explanation of the implementation of a database by, oh... 5:30..".

You would be better off here explaining what it is you're doing the research for. Where will the data that is going to be stored come from? Where is it stored now? How big is it? How many tables? How many records? How much data in GB?

Tell your "senior official" that he should go into town and get a good basic text on databases.

Regarding the original question, it is too vague for a newsgroup response. All people can do here is point you in the right direction.

If your knowledge is zero, then start with a basic text. Explain the requirements that I have outlined above, and people here *_may_* be able to give you some pointers for Oracle, but if this is a general query about databases, then it would be better off in comp.databases.theory.

In general, here you get either

  1. pointers to texts and/or documentation or
  2. specific answers to (very) specific questions

When asking database related questions, please give other posters
some clues, like operating system, version of db being used and DDL.
The exact text and/or number of error messages is useful (!= "it didn't work!").
Thanks.

Furthermore, as a courtesy to those who spend
time analysing and attempting to help, please
do not top post.
