50 instances on a single server is somewhat unusual, but the effect on
the system depends on how much memory is available on the system, how
much io is taking place (versus mostly idle instances), etc.



Think the v880 machines have up to 64 gig of RAM so it should be able
to accomodate.



There are features in oracle available where instead of providing a
separate instance to each client you can combine them.
