Re: Question: Installing 10g over TTY display on Sparc server

Hi,

Assuming that you will be networking the E220, that you'll have a Windows or Linux machine in the same LAN or with a crossover ethernet cable, and that the Win/Linux machine will have a graphics board and a monitor, on Windows Putty and cygwin with XFree (if you have a Linux + XFree box its much easier :-) :

• on the Windows box start the Xserver (cygwin, Xmanager, PCXware ...) (on cygwin don't forget to "xhost + <ip_of_E220>" once you've done a "startx")
• ssh/telnet(Putty) to the E220
• as the user running the Oracle installer (oracle:dba?) type "export DISPLAY=<ip_of_Win/Lin:0>" assuming your shell is ksh/bash
• launch the Oracle installer
