Exactly. and NOTHING to do with option 6 of "free as in sell" in ANY dictionary. "Free software" does not mean free as in "no charge", it means free of proprietary licensing bindings. I guess the correct statement (without ellipsis!) should have been:

Vendors of "Free Software Foundation" software.

Which means it can be sold like any other software. With thanks to the thread in another TOTALLY different group (pt.soc.politica) where this was pointed out. Makes total sense to me now. Bugger, sometimes it IS an advantage to be able to understand more than just the English language! Not very often, but sometimes.
