Before you meekly buy into the "this causes kernel panic" story, you should
ask the poster who made that comment what machines he's using, what his
shared disk looks like, what his linux version is, and what his Oracle
version and patch level is.
His original comment was also "you'll get a kernel panic if the machine *is under load*", which is not exactly terrificly specific. So maybe he should qualify what that means, too.
I haven't heard too much by way of horror stories regarding OCFS of late. That could be just me being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm not saying there aren't any, just that I haven't heard too many of them lately.
If you have a Metalink account, start searching for the horror stories. If you haven't got one, maybe it's time to think about getting one.
