Gee it must be the software !
Well I've installed dozens of Oracle databases ( since v5 ) on multiple platforms
( DOS, OS/2,Unix ( SCO and Solaris) , LInux, W2K, W3.1,W95, W98 ) and , as long as I read the readmes and checked with
Metallink, made sure my environment was correct and configured according to Oracle's recommendations and was using a
supported combination of DB and OS I've encountered few problems.
Oracle is not a simple product to install and it is critical to be aware of the limitations and requirements before starting
an installation.
As to your situation...256Mb is a minimal amount for Oracle 9.x with W2K Advanced Server so the JRE may be having
memory issues..
Also, what specific errors are you getting( if they were in the subject of your original posting, I missed it, sorry)
This is not meant to be a rant, and I hope it does not come across that way, but it seems that folks want software to be extremely powerful, very flexible and easy to install regardless of the system it is being installed on .
Sometimes 2 out of 3 is all you can get...
Thanks for your time....
