Hi Holger
I have only installed 9iAS against an 8.1.7 database and also against an 8.1.6 database. On one occasion I needed webcache for a customer and the apache web server and on the other occasion portal. The database cache failed on both occasions, for two different reasons. I have not been impressed so far with the 9iAS. I will keep note of the issues you found as i will be installing 9iAS against 9i in the next few weeks for a client.
cheers
