Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Re: Installing Oracle 8i on an NT Cluster?
Hmm..I know that someone has replied to this message but it's not being
downloaded to my company's server. Anyway, I can remember what I wanted to
say.
The problem is simply lack of skills. We don't have an Oracle specialist in the team so I got the "envious" task of installing it. The documentation for installing Fail Safe says that you should create an Oracle Home on each node (with the same name) and that this should contain all Oracle system files. The database should be on a shared cluster drive along with the logfiles and some config files.
This is fine, this is what we want (we have an EMC SAN machine for the
cluster storage). However, I can't see anywhere in the installation
procedure where you can specify separate locations for the system and
database files. You get the option to specify the home directory and that's
it.
