SuSE 7.1 & Oracle 8.1.7

Hey folks,

I tried to install Oracle 8.1.7 EE on SuSE 7.1 installation running a kernel version 2.4.2.

Everything seems to be ok merely the database creation always fails, with "No connection to oracle" or something else.

Any ideas ?
