Sounds like the old MS Java problem. Do you have the latest service
packs? Does task manager show a java process even though you get no
window? You will also see this problem with some other Java aps.
There's a fix on MS's site (named something like getadminfix)
that's included in later SP (I believe SP 5 is where it first appears).
Quick work around, set your colors down to 16, that often (but not
always) helped for some odd reason.
