Quite normal, if you would just check Concept Guide Vol 1, ch 1, pp1-14 et al.

No. You seem to be checkpointing like mad, though. What are :

• the values of your log_checkpoint_timeout / log_checkpoint_interval init variables?
• the size of your redo logs (sounds like a silly macho question, doesnt it).
