Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Oracle runnig too many processes ?
Hi All.
Do you know how many Oracle processes should run per DB ?
cause my server is running slow lately , and I saw many processes
running under it.
I monitored the processes on my machine (Sun solaris , oracle 8.1.5 )
and found more then one process
per DB.
here it is :
oracle 9982 4.9 14.17810435352 ? R Nov 25 4497:25
ora_ckpt_gtdb
oracle 9976 0.0 14.17760835448 ? S Nov 25 0:14

oracle 9988 0.0 14.07708035192 ? S Nov 25 0:00
ora_arc0_gtdb
oracle 23446 0.0 14.37735235864 ? S 17:06:12 0:01 oraclegtdb
(LOCAL=NO)
oracle 24695 0.0 14.37760036024 ? S 18:56:52 0:01 oraclegtdb
(LOCAL=NO)
oracle 24697 0.0 14.27704035760 ? S 18:56:54 0:00 oraclegtdb
(LOCAL=NO)
Do I run too much processes ?
Can I avoid running some of them ?
Thanks
