Unicode char set

Has anyone implemented the Unicode character set under an ORACLE V8 database? If so, I would interested in hearing your experiences with it, how it is being used, and why you set it up with the Unicode char set. I would especially be interested in any 3 tier configurations with an application middle tier component.
