Have you tried installing the DB server software yet ?
You should (as long as you have enough mem and HDD space) be able to run Oracle 8 plus whatever client software you want !
I note from your second email that you have Oracle 8.0.5 but 8.1.5 client
software
you may want to backup your HDD before you start as multiple versions of
Oracle
on windows platforms is tricky.
However I have exactly the same setup as yuo are planning
