Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Re: oracle on nt vs. netware
We have run Oracle on a dedicated Netware server then converted it to a
dedicated NT server 18 month ago.
Whilst running on Netware we had endless problems with Oracle crashing Netware for a variety of reasons and we never ran a week without a reboot.
From the day we went to NT it has been solid as a rock. It now stays up on average for about six months at a time and it usually only gets taken down for installing the latest patchset. Performance is great and is better than on Netware (can only relate our own hands on experiece).
From our experience it is such a clear cut decison its a real no brainer!
