Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Problems importing a 7.1.6 export file into 7.3.3 in HP/ux 10.20 and PeopleSoft Implimentation
Hello!
I have a question - and please keep in mind that I'm NOT an Oracle DBA, but I am a Unix System Manager who needs to provide some help to our Oracle DBA for this problem.
We currently use Oracle 7.1.6 on an HP/ux 10.20 System in a PeopleSoft implimentation.
We did a fresh (not upgrade) install to Oracle 7.3.3 on the same system. Our DBA created the database using the same scripts he always has. He tries to import from the 7.1.6 export file. It begins to import, but part way through the import, the process seems to just bomb out and return him to the Unix command line.
It does leave a line in an alert logfile...

Errors in file /devora3/dbs/hr7dmo/udump/ora_10851.trc:
ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [11] [0] [0] [0] [] []
And then it does go and spit out a bunch of info to the trace file. It's too much to include here. We've looked up the message but haven't been able to figure it out, we've tested it on another machine and it does the same thing, we've contacted Oracle but usually they just tell us to try another version - which doesn't really help.
Basically, my question is has anybody else encountered this type of behavior when trying to import an older 7.1.x export file into 7.3.3?
Thanks in advance for any help. If you respond, please also send a copy to me.
