have just tested on a Linux test server (rh9 / Legato 7.1.1/ nmo4.1/ db9.2.0)
(same behaviour). But DB-Recover worked, so i guess rman retrieves the backup-pieces via Saveset Id. Could it be that your Server has a new nmo (3.5+) ?
