I agree. Easiest way to get Oracle 8 running on RH6 is to install it on RH5.x first and then simply copying the Oracle directory tree (e.g. /u01/app/oracle ) accross.
Apperantly there's a problem with libc or something - Oracle 8 was compiled for RH5.2 libraries and can not be linked with RH6 libraries. If you install the RH5.2 lib's and link Oracle 8 on RH6 using these 5.s libs, it should work. Or so I have been told... :-)
