The real problem comes in that if you use ASM then asynch io happens automatically, but when you switch back to FS based databases you have to set it manually. Yes File system cache normally takes up a lot of the memory space in FS based without asynchio running. However that may not be what is causing the swap issue.

from our analisis a big part of the memory is used by filesystem cache so i was thinking to use filesystemio_options to set_all but i was unsure if with latest releases something changed because i used it years ago with 11.2 ... and it seemed strange to me that none before me thought to use it .
