In addition to comments from Mladen, the other advantage of huge pages is that the TLB is shared with huge pages, which again saves memory. With small pages not only do you have much larger tlb, but each process that connects to the SGA has to have its own copy of the TLB.

Overall, I say disable memory_taeget and use huge pages.
