GoldenGate Microservice Hub Arch - Trail Files

One query on GoldenGate , in case of microservices arch with HUB ( where we install the service manger & source/target deployments on the hub host instead of dB servers) how should we configure the trail file location :

1. Option 1: Configure same location for both source & target deployments so that there is no need of distribution path . Example :Extract from source deployment and write to location /local/oggma/trails and replicate running from target deployment can directly read the trails from same location /local/oggma/trails.
2. Option 2: even though we have source & target deployment setup on same hub host we should create a distribution path which should copy trail files from source deployment folder to target deployment folder ?
