Those are two entirely different products with entirely different uses. You cannot do any sort of transformations with Dataguard, all you can do is take a copy of the data and put it into your standby database that may be open for read only, but is not open for read-write. Golden Gate allows you to copy data into a database that is open for read/write and a allows you to transform the data into something more suitable for a data warehouse.
