Calling all Oracle performance geeks.
As I work on a project I am finding the need to use assets I have created, borrowed, been inspired from (likely some of you) over the years. I am rolling this into some objects and a PL/SQL package called ArcSQL.
The technique I outline here works wonderfully in a lot (not all of course) situations as one of the places to look when there is a performance problem.
This article outlines the columns in the SQL_LOG table. I am able to use single table to answer a lot of questions quickly that most performance tools don't make quite as easy. One goal is to make the table comprehensive and simple enough that it can be exported to just about anyone with modest technical experience and they can come to some very quick conclusions about the nature of a problem.
This does not cover wait events and such, it is simply asking, what SQL is running, and are they operating normally.
I have spent a few days cleaning this up and still testing. Will tag a release in a week or two once I feel a little better about things.

Appreciate constructive comments or areas needing more clarity.
There is other functionality here and more coming that would be nice to see ported to Postgres and MySQL. If anyone wants to take one of those on let me know. Happy to support those efforts.
