Bit of a weird one . I have several rman jobs that run daily. Sometimes the shell script completes but the rman image still seems to be running consuming CPU. The shell script deletes the running lock and a listing shows that the backup is complete. The log says backup complete too. I'm trying to write a script to kill these 'limbo' jobs and have so far found that I can find that there might be a Limbo job if ps -ef | grep rman shows there's an rman running but V_$RMAN_STATUS shows no STATUS=RUNNING Rman Jobs.
I'd really like to stop this happening rather than fixing it. anyone else seen this?
