I would say 8gb is the minimum you want to get for playing around with
Virtual Box but if you decide to do something like RAC, where you would
start up multiple VMs, it's definitely nice to have more memory.
I went with 16gb on my company issued Dell for the purpose of using Virtual
Box and knowing I would be doing RAC on it. If you can get more than 8gb
you'll be thankful later for the extra headroom.
