Hi jeffrey,

Oracle doesn't recognize snapshot as backups, which means that you will have to backup archive logs using RMAN. You can revert to the snapshot or restore a file from snapshot, but for the point in time recovery, you need archive logs. Also, snapshots are relatively expensive to maintain on the primary storage for a long time. Hopefully, you have some method for backing them up to a cheaper storage?

Regards
