I'm fairly certain I replied already as to why I was looking for other options, but I'll recap here:
Past experience (probably outdated now) with tape drive throughput was (is) a concern for me but my storage and backup guys assure me that we should be able to backup the database to tape with very little heartburn. So that's going to be our first approach. We're going to start with weekly fulls and nightly incrementals to see where we are. Once we determine if the timing is serviceable, we'll either try a different strategy or go with straight to tape.
My apologies if you guys were waiting on another response from me on this - from my POV, I thought this topic had been addressed and put to bed.
Thanks,
Chris
