I can understand that the client decides not to use it - I personally haven't liked using it until 11g. As I understood Joel's post though, it was not allowed under Oracle's license. Maybe I'm wrong, but I did not think that RMAN was licensed separately and indeed Oracle's preferred way to do backups. Should I change my line?
