Thanks... I knew that you were referring to the GATHER_SYSTEM_STATS. Jonathan wrote on it back in 2007 (http://jonathanlewis.wordpress.com/2007/05/20/system-stats-strategy). I will look into running it.

Sorry, you misunderstood. Not talking about statistics on SYS/SYSTEM tables. Talking about SYSTEM STATISTICS (statistics about the server - CPU speed, IO transfer speed, seek times).

These are gathered through DBMS_STATS.GATHER_SYSTEM_STATS:

In the past, Oracle did not used to support gathering of SYSTEM statistics for the eBiz suite and therefore, we do not collect them. I will have to check and see if Oracle supports it now. Based on note "EBPERF FAQ - Collecting Statistics in Oracle EBS 11i and R12 [ID 368252.1]", which seems to be a recent note, it seems that Oracle now suggests gathering SYSTEM statistics.
